First up………..

Tuesday March 4th 9 to 12

  What is a blog? And why do you need one? With Jo Castro

Personal blogs, business blogs, hobby blogs – it seems that today everyone has a blog. Why do you need one for a small business and how can a blog improve your business if you’re an artist or entrepreneur? Come  along and learn about the way you can use a  blog to promote yourself and your business, and look at the options available for setting up a free blog.  Power Point Presentation.

Bring pen and Paper. No internet required.

Fees: $65

Sunday 9th March  
     Introduction to Encaustic Art with Colin Pratt–

Session1:  9.30-12.00The application of wax using a range of techniques and equipment. 
Session 2: 1.00 – 3.30    Special Effects with Encaustic art. Includes working with stencils, image transfers, shellac, and tar.
Fees:  $150 for full day workshop (or $80 for individual session)
Maximum 6 people [ 3 minimum]

These two can both be done in the same day. You can create a blog with your own photos

Monday 10th March 9 to 12 9 to 12

How to increase your Blog Traffic with Jo Castro

Are you finding that your Mum and your best friend are your only readers? Are your comments sections looking a little empty? Never fear. In this workshop we’ll look at proven ways to help improve your blog traffic and get people interested in visiting your blog. Bring pen and paper.

No Internet Required.  $65

Minimum 5 people

Blogs need good photographs, and if you’re thinking of starting a blog you won’t want to rely on images taken from the internet for copyright purposes – so why not learn to take your own?

 

Monday March 10 th 1 to 4

Digital Photography for Beginners with Jill Harrison

Learn the basics & elements of composition. 
This workshop will cover the basics of photography and guidelines for composing images. 
Requirements – your camera & camera manual. 

Fees $65

minimum 5 people

It doesn’t matter what camera you use –

carry your camera,  see the image, take the picture – and keep practising! 

 

All good fun …… (Like the photography, this is new to Lyndendale Gallery!)

Friday March 14th 10 to 4 pm

Drawing for fun with Jenni Doherty

A session for those that live by the motto ” I can’t draw a staight line”!No staight lines required. Just a willingness to come and play with marks on paper.

Develop “seeing ” skills and bust open the myth  that you can’t draw.

Prerequisites – readiness to play & have a look around.

Materials – Pencils, pens, biros, charcoal,texta, anything that makes a mark on paper.

Paper, new ,old,recycled old books, wrapping paper, anything you can make a mark on.

We will be playing not creating a finished masterpiece.

Fees: $65

Minimum number 5, maximum number 10

Miniature Watercolours – Seascape or Landscape with Marguerite Aberle

Paint miniature watercolour  land or seascapes to either make beautiful cards, or be framed to make beautiful pictures. All materials supplied.

Fees: $95 .

Maximum of 8,minimum of 4 participants.

Tuesday 18th March 9 to 12

 Social Media – How to establish a network of connections – Twitter, Pinterest,Instagram – with Jo Castro

 So you’ve started a blog and you’re on Facebook? Or maybe you don’t yet have a Facebook page? But have you considered all the other social media options open to you? In this workshop we look at Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, StumbleUpon, Google+ and discuss how you can best use them, or not. We’ll look at basic ways you can post to them and make them work for you. This is a workshop for beginners – we’ll set up some free accounts and look at the fundamentals. Bring Pen and Paper and Laptops. Internet Required.

Encaustic art – 3D effects with Colin Pratt
Use your encaustic skills  to create 3 dimensional artwork. Incorporating various materials and found objects into a painting by dipping, shaping, and using wire armatures.

All materials supplied. Previous encaustic experience needed.
Fees: $150 for full day workshop.
Maximum 6 people, 3 minimum.

Watercolour Workshops’ with Neville Peterkin

 To help experienced painters get more out of watercolour

Review the fundamentals of watercolour painting – the flat and graded washes & edge manipulation techniques. Develop a colour palette. Simplifying a subject. Simplicity, spontaneity, subtlety & sensitivity.

Learn & practice wet into wet techniques applicable to the subject. Complete drawing & first stages of your picture.

No materials supplied

Fees: $100 for full day workshop

Maximum 8 people, minimum 3
