Miniature Watercolour landscapes: ‘Summer’ with Marguerite Aberle

All materials supplied (Frames available for purchase)

Paint miniature watercolour landscapes to either make beautiful cards, or be framed to make beautiful pictures.

Introduction to Memoir with Ingrid Rickersey

This creative writing workshop is suitable for beginner writers keen to explore the writing process. The only prerequisite is a reasonable ability of English grammar and sentence structure.

The workshop exploresvarioustypes of life writing and includes practical writing exercises. Follow- on workshops will be available where you will learn how to connect your writing pieces

Workshop covers:

  • What is life writing and why write?
  • Writing your life story
  • Characterisation in life writing
  • Making your writing stand out

How to Write Blog Posts that People Want to Read with Jo Castro

Pre-requisite: A desire to write and blog, or preferably a blog that’s up and running. (We won’t be creating blog sites – just blog posts.)

Having a blog or an idea for a blog is one thing, but getting people to read and engage with your content is another.

Blogs can be effective tools for businesses and artists to publicise their work or services, but what do you publish on a regular basis to keep people coming back for more so that you can keep promoting your business or your services?

Materials supplied – Handouts

Please bring – notepads & paper, iPads or Laptops.

Saturday 12th March  9.30 to 3.30 pm Introduction to Encaustic Art with Colin Pratt All materials supplied Session1:    Introduction to Encaustic art – the application of wax using a range of techniques & equipment.  Session 2:  Add to the basic techniques by including different types of collage materials, stencils& tar.

Fees:  $150 for full day workshop (or $80 for individual session) Maximum 6 people [ 3 minimum]

Exploring Encaustic Monotype Printmaking with Colin Pratt

(encaustic experience needed)

Create unique wax prints and develop them using your previous encaustic experience. Experiment with different papers, temperatures, techniques.

All materials supplied (but bring any special papers you’d like to use).

Fees:  $ 90 Maximum 6 people , 3 minimum

Friday April 1st 9.30 -12.00, 1.00- 3.00 Encaustic Art -Special Effects with Colin Pratt.

Previous encaustic experience needed.

All materials supplied, but bring any favourite papers you have.

Effects include working with shellac, paper & dye, foils, plaster, & adding embellishments.

Fees: $150 for full day workshop. Maximum 6 people, 3 minimum.

Linocut Printing with Elizabeth Royce

Learn the basic skills of designing, cutting & printing a simple linocut with the option of using coloured inks &/or pencils in different ways to vary the printing process.  Hand-colouring is also an option.

In the tradition of print artists such as Margaret Preston, the theme will be flora, either general or Australian.

Most materials supplied but please bring-

1 or 2 images (you might like to do two prints). The print will be 12cmx12cm but the design can be adjusted

An old shirt or apron

A toothbrush

A tablespoon…

A notebook, loose paper, pencils (drawing & coloured if you wish) & an eraser.

*Optional…..watercolour or gouache paints
